Unlike the US, we don’t have past photographs, nor present day big budget films highlighting our atrocities. We are often left with sanitised depictions or what I like to call ‘colonial slavery’ ie the expectation. For example, we expect to see someone getting whipped. The reality is Buckra slavery, what we don’t know, in this case it’s manure dripping down their bodies. To bring some of our harsh realities to audio-visual, I have been on an AI journey.
